creating a self-sustaining vegetable patch in your home
Backyard Veggie Gardening – a series of three, half-day workshops. The final session in the series is on Problem Solving ~ Sunday 10 February 2019 (SAGE Garden, 110 Queen St, Moruya)
Leading on from session 2 on Planting in October – and having spent four months in their own garden participants take a closer look and share what they have developed, grown and learnt from their garden.
In the final session of the series, Alison will review the season and work through solutions to some of the common problems you may have experienced through the summer growing season. In this workshop you will learn:
- Pests and diseases – how to prevent,
- Green manure and soil maintenance,
- Managing gluts and preparing for the hungry gap
- Preparing for the cooler months, and
- Lessons learnt and planning for the next season.
This workshop is ideal for anyone who is interested in learning about the issues they faced during the season – even if you haven’t attended the previous workshops, this is an invaluable session to learn what you can do better next time.
This workshop is a stand-only and can be attended without attending the first workshop in the series.
