Regenerative Soil Management
Presented by Bruce Davison
CWA Moruya – 64 Queen Street, Moruya
Friday 14 June 2019 | 8.30am – 4.30pm
Bruce Davidson returns to SAGE, as he continues his quest to educate the importance of understanding soil, the critical role it plays in growing highly nutritious and healthy food, and the long-term viability of grazing, growing, farm business and backyard garden. Good soil functions consistently as a vital living system, maintaining the key elements that promote grass and plant health, which benefit the health of livestock, customers and family.
What you will learn
Bruce Davison’s one-day workshop delivers fundamental information and practical approaches to help you understand, analysis and build your soil for better crops and pastures. You will:
- Understand basic biological soil functions.
- Learn how to analyse YOUR own soil test.
- Read and interpret a soil test to identify deficiencies.
- Calculate amendments using the Soilsmith program to restore fertility and productivity to your land.
So that participants get the most out of the workshop, we have arranged for you to receive a subsidised price of your soil samples for analysis. Then at the workshop, Bruce will guide you through the process of interpreting and understanding your own soil report, and how to make the necessary adjustments to improve productivity.
Please note: Having your own soil test is an excellent opportunity to get connected to your soil and help understand why your farm/garden isn’t performing as well as it might or expect. However, it is not essential, as you will be provided with the Soilsmith program and go through how to use it so you’ll be able to it enter your data and analyse your soil results after the workshop.
BOOK EARLY and arrange your soil tested! Instructions on how to take a soil sample and the contact details of the lab will be provided when you book into this workshop. Please note that the cost of the soil analysis will be $88 (a 20% discount)– this is not included in the cost of the workshop.
Who should attend
This workshop is ideal for anyone serious about learning how to create ideal soil conditions to support growing highly nutritious food – produce to eat and pastures for animals. There will be a revision of the basics as a refresher to those who attended previously and perfect for those who are attending for the first time.
This workshop will be a comprehensive learning process focusing on regenerative soil management, improving environmental outcomes and the growing of nutrient-dense food and pastures. Bruce is continually developing his understanding of his own pasture – constantly exploring and experimenting with his soil and compost building approach and loves sharing his experience of results with others.
