Thanks to the IMB Community Foundation, SAGE will be launching an even bigger and better “Veggies for All” project in late June 2018.
In 2017, SAGE ran a series of 2-hour workshops at various locations within the Eurobodalla that introduced novices to home gardening. The series of workshops was supported with grant funds from the IMB and donations from a number of local businesses.
It was a huge success, introducing scores of people to growing food at home. Demand for the raised veggie beds was so overwhelming, SAGE responded by establishing our Garden Partners program, whereby anyone can order a fully installed raised garden bed, complete with seedlings, ready to grow.
The 2018 “Veggies for All” will be officially launced at the Red Door Café at St John’s Anglican Church, Page Street, Moruya on Tuesday 26th June, 12.30pm. Anglicare offers a free lunch at the Red Door Café every Tuesday between 12.00pm and 1.30pm and everyone is welcome.
“Veggies for All” is ideal for people with busy lifestyles who want to eat healthy, fresh and organic food. It’s also suitable for people with physical limitations, but who still want to garden.
We’ve calculated that up to $600 can be saved on food costs over three years!!
You can register now for the 2018 “Veggies for All” project and reserve your place in a 3-hour basic vegetable/herb growing workshop being held in Narooma, Tuross Head, Moruya, Mogo and Batemans Bay between July to September 2018 (dates to be confirmed). The cost will be $15, charged once dates have been finalised.
Centrelink recipients who attend a workshop are eligible to receive a fully installed vegetable garden bed, with a choice from a number of different sizes and designs. To register for any of the workshops, you can fill in the registration form below, email Kathryn or call her on 0467 558 645. You can also register at the SAGE stall at the SAGE Farmers Market every Tuesday afternoon from 3.00pm.
