Volunteering on the Farm

We have an interesting new learning and giving back opportunity at SAGE’s Stepping Stone Farm, 8km west of Moruya.

Working alongside our interns and under the supervision of our SAGE Farm Educator Joyce Wilkie, we’re looking for people to help with general planting and bed maintenance on our training farm.

You’re invited to come along from 8am to 11am on Wednesdays or Thursdays (or both) and be part of a small working group each day.

No experience is necessary, everything is provided, and you will have a coffee/tea break mid-way. We’re currently planting potatoes and weeding the onion beds and you’ll learn about the Farm’s growing schedule, and adaptive agricultural practices.

Helping on the Farm will give you insights into our internships, and the workings of a commercial market garden.

You can come on your own or as a small group, and people thinking about applying for an internship or recommending it to someone are very welcome too!

Susan Heyward is coordinating the volunteer roster and you can phone 0409 393 083 or email sdajane59@gmail.com with the dates you can help, and any questions. More info on Stepping Stone Farm here
