The purpose of the SFM Non-Commercial Growers scheme is to provide an opportunity for backyard growers to sell their excess produce. This is not intended for growers of a commercial nature and the rules applying to this scheme specifically exclude producers who grow for profit.
Only primary produce is permitted to be sold. No secondary or tertiary (ie. value-added) products are permitted to be sold via this scheme.
Numbers are limited to just three backyarders each week and bookings are absolutely essential!!
No one will be permitted to sell if they just turn up unannounced and it would be a terrible shame to send someone home with freshly harvested produce. Interested Non-Commercial Growers must contact the SFM Site Coordinator at least 24 hours in advance to organise a place.
Non-Commercial Growers will sell from a shared 3m x 3m space and must be a member of SAGE (individual membership $20 pa, family membership $25 pa). The only other cost is $7.00 per booking to provide the necessary insurance for you to trade. You must provide your own table or shelter, as no marquee or other equipment will be provided.
If you are interested, please make sure you read both the Non-Commercial Growers Rules & Regulations document and the Non-Commercial Growers Code of Conduct before you fill in and sign the Non-Commercial Growers Application Form.
