The SAGE Seed Savers group was established in 2014 in order to preserve and promote growing food with local provenance. Seeds collected by members of this group are conditioned to the local climate, ensuring hardier plants and more successful gardening.
The aims of the group are to:
- preserve locally adapted edible heirloom seed varieties
- actively increase the growing of these varieties in our region
- promote seed saving through ongoing education programs
- assist in developing additional passive income streams for sustainable food growers through the wholesaling of heirloom seed varieties
The SAGE seed savers group is currently having a break, however we have recently partnered with Eurobodalla Shire Council to provide free seeds at Moruya library.
If you would like to be a part of this initiative contact Moruya Library and ask about ‘Seed Cycle’.
